The area of university didactics at the University of Vechta under the direction of Prof. Dr. Marco Rieckmann focuses in its work on the guiding question "With which didactic approaches, methods and tools can the serious game enable learners to deal with the complex agri-climate system in such a way that the development of climate protection-oriented and N-use competencies is promoted, among other things, in the context of climate change education ("Climate Change Education", cf. Mochizuki, Bryan 2015)?". Findings from the literature on climate change education and education for sustainable development (in the Oldenburger Münsterland and beyond) as well as existing experiences with formal, non-formal and informal education and learning processes to address climate change are incorporated into the development of the serious game prototype (didactic support and consultation). Corresponding learning objectives are formulated and suitable learning and teaching approaches (didactic approaches, methods, tools, tasks, situations), which can be used in the serious game, are defined and tested to achieve these learning objectives. To discuss and analyze existing experiences, actors from educational institutions, politics, administration, industry, associations, science and civil society will be involved in different formats (co-creation approach). In a co-creation workshop, the vision "Climate Region OM" is developed together with farmers from teaching and practice as well as other experts (e.g. from politics and business).
