In the department "Systems of Livestock Production" of the Department of Livestock Sciences of the Georg-August-University in Göttingen, headed by Prof. Dr. Imke Traulsen, strategies for agricultural practice regarding nitrogen reduction and climate resilience are developed and evaluated on the basis of exemplary, region-specific production branches in pig meat production and with the help of a model system. In a systemic approach, the complex interrelationships between livestock production and upstream and downstream sectors, e.g. feed production, manure use, and are mapped. The aim is to identify specific mechanisms of action in order to work out potentials and challenges of the production systems with regard to the reduction of knitted materials. These are focused in the serious game as "keypoints". In addition, they form the basis for optimization strategies and recommendations for action, which are to be developed and applied by users in the serious game and their respective effects are to be presented in the complex system. Furthermore, key indicators for the evaluation of sustainability and the potential for climate resilience will be identified and expected conflicts of objectives will be named. The focus is on the identification of key factors of a climate-optimized operation.
