Students seeking a degree at Vechta University may enroll or apply for the first semester in the winter semester only. Applications for graduate studies are possible from June onwards.
The following steps are required to apply:
Note: If you do not have a recognized language certificate, but have advanced language skills, you may be admitted on the basis of an examination of your individual documents with the condition that you submit the language certificate at a later date - please contact us if you have any questions.
You can apply or enroll directly at the university online (uni-assist is not used by the University of Vechta). The online application portal is activated every year at the beginning of June on the website of the Enrollment Office. At the end of the online enrollment (for open-admission programs), you will receive a checklist of documents that you must submit by mail to the Admissions Office. The application for admission-restricted study programs takes place exclusively online (in case of admission you will receive a message which documents have to be submitted by mail).
Applicants from China and Vietnam must also submit an APS certificate with their application.

Applicants for the preparatory college in Hanover need a recognized B1 certificate (e.g. TELC B1) as proof of language proficiency.
The application deadline for the preparatory college in Hanover depends on the dates of the entrance examination at the preparatory college. Please contact the International Office for information.
Pursuant to § 13 para. 6 NHG and § 2 para. 4 of the General Fee and Usage Regulations (Official Gazette 3/2005 p. 4 ff.) in conjunction with their Annex 2 (Price List, Official Gazette loc. cit. p. 10 ff. ) section III table "Personnel cost lump sums", a processing fee of 75.00 € is charged for the service "Advice and examination of documents for the admission of foreign students (§ 18 Abs. 10 Satz 2 NHG) to the preparatory college Hanover". Participants in preparatory courses offered by the University of Vechta as well as recipients of benefits from the Basic Security for Job Seekers, the Basic Security for Old Age and Reduced Earning Capacity and the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act are exempt from the payment of the fee. The fee paid will be refunded upon application if studies are taken up at the University of Vechta within 3 years of admission to the preparatory college.
