International week


Welcome to the digital international campus!

We expect 40 international guests from over 20 countries to participate in the Online International Week (31 May 2021 to 11 June 2021). They will greatly contribute to the courses with their international perspectives on research and teaching. A varied supporting programme with intercultural training, as well as interesting special events will complete the International Week.

Programme


Intercultural training

What even is culture? What are intercultural competencies? How do I communicate successfully in intercultural encounters to avoid, identify or dissolve misunderstandings? What influence do stereotypes have on my actions? These and other questions are dealt with in the intercultural training.
The intercultural training particularly aims at students, who plan on going abroad.

Wednesday, the 9th of June 2021 from 10am to 12pm
The appointments are built on each other, so it is not possible to participate in individual appointments separately.

Trial workshop Arabic

The trial workshop offers a mix of information, exercises and language practice on the Arabic language. So it’s not just a language course. The aim of the workshop is to give you an impression of the Arabic language.

Dialogue of cultures

What is intercultural competence? What are the reasons for misunderstandings in intercultural interaction? And how can I react in these situations? In the workshop, the students will interactively develop strategies for action on these issues together with the trainer, practice the change of perspective and deal with the challenges and limits of intercultural education.
This workshop is particularly aimed at students who will work in mixed groups in their professional future (teaching, social work, gerontology, cultural studies, etc. ).
