Link between university and practice

The Transfer Office of the University of Vechta

An important task of universities is to make research results accessible for use in educational institutions, economy, politics and society. The promotion of knowledge, idea and technology transfer as well as business start-ups from within the university is therefore also explicitly a task of the universities according to the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG) (Section 1) and in particular also of the University of Vechta within the framework of its transfer strategy. The University of Vechta has a Transfer Office as part of the Department of Research Development and Knowledge Transfer to support its transfer activities and its practical cooperation.

The primary task of the Transfer Office is to support and accompany the transfer of research findings and results from the university into society, not only in the region, and also to communicate requests, questions, knowledge resources and contacts from society into the university. The University of Vechta follows a transfer strategy based on dialogue and multi-directional exchange.

Affiliates of the University of Vechta can also make use of start-up advice and support for self-employment. The University of Vechta is a partner institution of the Gründerwoche Deutschland (Startup Week Germany). The Transfer Office also offers support in questions of invention and patent exploitation in cooperation with external partner institutions.

The Science Shop Vechta/Cloppenburg is the university’s contact point in Cloppenburg and is allocated to the Transfer Office.

With its key profiles education, humanities and social sciences as well as agriculture and food, the University of Vechta is also available for contract research or as a cooperation partner for projects with companies, institutions, municipalities, etc. For more information, please contact the Department of Research Development and Knowledge Transfer.
