The Bachelor's porgamme Society, Sustainability and Social Innovation teaches fundamental theoretical and empirical principles. This also includes introductions to the fundamentals of sustainability and the methods of empirical educational research. Workshops on quantitative and qualitative research methods are part of the curriculum. The specialisation and special sociologies deal with topics such as gender systems, social relations to nature, the labour market and sustainability as well as social innovations. Interdisciplinary perspectives are also taken into account, including digital cultural studies and sustainability entrepreneurship. An internship as well as the Bachelor's thesis and the Bachelor's colloquium complete programme.
The Bachelor's degree opens up a wide range of career opportunities. These include sustainability-related activities in companies or management consultancies, but also activities in the management of social or environmental projects as well as activities in the public sector. A career in research and teaching at universities and colleges is also possible, as well as in the fields of media, communication or journalism.
