Study Management of Social Services (MA)!

 

The Master's programme in Management of Social Services at the University of Vechta is the only university degree programme in Germany to combine economic thinking and action with the special features of social services. A wide range of topics are covered, including the design of economic incentives to manage behaviour and motivate employees, the management of volunteers, effective fundraising and the optimal management and leadership of social service providers.

Requirements 
  • German language certificate for university admission (e.g. TestDaF, Telc C1 Hochschule, DSH-2 or the Goethe Zertifikat C2) or proof of German language knowledge on the level C1 (e.g. proven by attending a C1 course) for a conditional admission - please note: We offer preparatory German language courses.
  • recognised Bachelor's degree in a suitable field of study

Tuition feeIn principle, no fees are charged for studying at the University of Vechta (tuition fees). Only the semester fee is payable. This covers certain administrative costs and allows you to take advantage of benefits such as discounts in the refectory or free use of buses and trains in Lower Saxony.

Graduates of the Master's programme have excellent analytical and methodological skills, very good knowledge of economics and in-depth insights into current challenges in the management of social services, which arise, for example, from increasing digitalisation and sustainability orientation.

The content of the degree programme is divided into three areas:

  • Strategic management with normative reflection, e.g. stakeholder, personnel or non-profit management.
  • Advanced areas of application for social services, selectable from a broad range of subjects in economics, psychology, social work and gerontology.
  • Research and method-orientated courses and practice-oriented project studies.

The two Master's degree programmes in Management of Social Services and Ageing Sciences / Gerontology can be studied as a double degree programme at the University of Vechta. This is made possible by joint modules and mutual recognition.
