The Master's programme in Social Work is divided into three study areas:
- Social work science: disciplinary perspective
- Empirical analyses: Transdisciplinary perspective
- Social work and deviance: Inter- and transdisciplinary perspectives
Building on the knowledge gained in the Bachelor's programme, the Master's programme in Social Work aims to provide an education in which you are given a broad, detailed and critical understanding of social work at the cutting edge of science.
The courses on the Master's programme usually take place in blocks at fixed seminar times. The seminar times are designed to improve compatibility, especially with professional activities and/or shared family responsibilities. Thereby, we give you planning security and support your career plans.
There are a wide range of job opportunities for graduates of the Master's programme in Social Work. You will take on responsibility as a manager and leader. You will develop and evaluate concepts in social institutions and lead teams in public and private educational, social, educational and counselling institutions. The Master's programme in Social Work also qualifies you for doctoral studies.
In Germany, there currently is a high demand for qualified social workers.
