What you can expect as a student teacher in Vechta

Some seminars, such as the summer school, are already an integral part of the curriculum for student teachers. Those interested can already register for the summer semester of 2025.

The virtual seminars are still in development. Subject to the approval of all relevant committees and stakeholders, they will hopefully be available as selectable modules in the future. We will keep you updated!

Summer School

A two-week, English-language summer school offers the opportunity to develop specialist, international and intercultural skills for your career.

What you can expect:
✔ Practical learning in an international environment
✔ Intercultural exchange with students from all over EuropeI
✔ Compact program (including diversity & equity, oudoor learning) during the lecture-free period in August
✔ Creditable as a compulsory elective module (pbx.110, "Teaching and Learning from an International Perspective") with 6 ECTS

 Duration: 2 weeks | annually, in August | 100 % international, English

Games in class

This virtual modul is designed for bachelor and master students interested in learning playful teaching methods and expanding their intercultural skills. Together with students from different countries, you will explore traditional and modern games and develop your own teaching concepts.

What you can expect:
✔ Introduction in game-based learning
✔ International teamwork & exchange
✔ Virtual games night 
✔ Development and publication of teaching material (e. g. on Twillo)

start: winter semester 2025/26 |  participants: 10 students from at least 2 partner universities each | 100 % online, in English/German

E-Twinning

The seminar "Pedagocial professionalism" in the Master of Education program is being expanded to include an international perspective. Through E-Twinning, a platform for virtual student exchanges, prospective teachers and teachers from the field engage with intercultural encounters in the school context in a practical and collaborative way.

What you can expect:
✔ International networking through virtual collaboration
✔ Development of a school development project in teams consisting of students & teachers from the field 
✔ Promotion of professionally relevant skills for the teaching profession
✔ Creditable as Micro-Credential in the compulsory module BWM002
