DIALOGUE

Teacher training in transition

What can the project do for the future of teacher training?

Promoting change & dialogue

Internationalisation in the teaching profession enables exchange and cooperation across national borders.

Through co-operation, innovative ideas and practices, new pedagogical approaches, teaching formats and learning materials find their way into the education sector and can lead to positive changes in schools and lessons.

At the same time, cooperation improves social dialogue and exchange.

Potential, realisation and future prospects

How do we organise future-oriented teacher training?

Potentials

Teachers in a globally networked world

There is an increasing demand for a teacher profile that combines internationally compatible knowledge with a contemporary approach to heterogeneity.

International experience offers great potential on three levels:
✔ Professional opportunities - improving employability on the international labour market
✔ Skills development - acquiring professionally relevant skills to prepare for working in heterogeneous learning groups
Global perspectives - promoting an open, diversity-conscious world view among teachers and students

Realisation

Studyable programmes

A successful international programme should not only support the acquisition of skills, but should also be studyable within the standard period of study. A barrier-free and low-threshold structure, integration into the regular curriculum facilitates access for all students - including those with family caring responsibilities or disabilities - and enables them to gain international experience.

With financial support from the DAAD, funded by the BMBF, we are working with our partners to optimise these processes and offer students a clear, supported opportunity.

    Future & Perspectives

    Living Europe at school

The European Education Agenda 2025 favours a stronger integration of European perspectives in teacher training. This project makes an active contribution to this by preparing students to design lessons that incorporate not only local but also European dimensions.

Teachers who have become more open and empowered through international experiences can convey the values and ideas of a united and democratic European society and enable their students to act actively and responsibly in a globalised world.
