Vision 2040 “Sustainable University of Vechta”

Passed by the Senate of the University of Vechta in its 65th meeting on 21 June 2017

The University of Vechta implements the principles of sustainability in studying and teaching, in research and knowledge transfer, as well as in everyday campus life and management. A culture of sustainability has been established on our campus. It is characterised by a harmonious, fair and equal relationship between the affiliates of the university from different backgrounds, an orientation toward principles of global justice and a future-oriented approach to the natural environment and its resources. A diverse living, learning and working environment has evolved.

Students get empowered and motivated to act as responsible, critical and reflective individuals who play a major role in shaping society in terms of sustainable development. All academic subjects promote discussing issues of sustainable development.

Researchers at our university contribute with their research to the ability of better identifying, understanding and solving sustainability-related problems and challenges. Sustainability is included in all research projects of our researchers.

The University of Vechta is an ambassador for sustainable development in the Oldenburg Münsterland and beyond.
