Possibilities for students

Since summer 2016, Science Shop Vechta/Cloppenburg offers a seminar in which groups of students conduct research on regional issues or develop concepts for practice partners. The seminar addresses essential approaches and concepts of transdisciplinarity and "Responsible Research and Innovation" as well as practices of participatory research and science shops. The students then cooperate with partner institutions like civil society organisations, municipal institutions, educational institutions or companies. Our students have different subject backgrounds and thus work in interdisciplinary research groups. The results of their research do not just end up on some bookshelf collecting dust, but are presented to practice partners at the end of the term.

If you are looking for regional contacts for your term paper or thesis, we are happy to help. As the science shop for the Oldenburger Muensterland, we are well connected in the two districts of Vechta and Cloppenburg and even beyond. For example, we have contacts to civil society organisations, engaged citizens, teachers, local administration as well as various companies. Thanks to our cooperation with these stakeholders on various projects, we regularly hear about topics or questions for potential student research projects.

If you want to work with a participatory approach in your Bachelor's or Master's thesis, please feel free to contact us. Although we cannot supervise theses, we are happy to share our experiences with you.

So far, there has not been an internship with us at the Science Shop, but feel free to contact us if you are interested in the topics of science communication and participatory research. As we often work on international projects, we can also put you in touch with science shops in other countries.
