PEER-IN. Improving the learning performance of students in online courses in educational methodology through activating formats
Lead: Prof. Dr. Karin Zimmer
Duration: 2021-2022
Funding: Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK) of Lower Saxony
From empirical classroom research it is well known that the cognitive activation of learners is of great importance not only for successful learning but also for raising interest in the topics taught. However, experience shows that students do not accept activating formats as readily as traditional formats of teaching. The PEER-IN project addresses this issue, introduces the activating format of peer instruction in the study of educational research methods, and evaluates the intervention in terms of student performance and interest.
