According to its mission statement, the University of Vechta strives for cosmopolitanism and tolerance. International guests enrich campus life and contribute to the international environment at the university, regardless of whether they are visiting the university as guest lecturers or during a short study or research stay or are carrying out a longer scientific project.

International Week

Every year in the summer semester the International Week takes place at the University of Vechta.

The International Week is an essential part of "Internationalisation at Home" at the University of Vechta. In this way, all students - and especially those who are unable to participate in mobility measures - have the opportunity to acquire international competence.

Take advantage of a manageable city where it is easy to meet open and friendly people and to use your German immediately. Vechta is located in an economically strong region and offers various excursion possibilities to the rural surroundings as well as to the nearby cities Bremen, Osnabrück and Hamburg.

Geography excursion leads to Malta & Gozo for the first time

Under the direction of PD Dr. Broder Breckling (Landscape Ecology) and Christian Tiller (Geography), 16 Bachelor students of Geography explored Malta and its "sister island" Gozo during the summer semester.

Excursion summary: More than 5,000 years of history in 12 days

Book Launch

On Friday, February 2, 2018, the University of Vechta celebrated the book premiere of "English for Social Work: A bilingual terminology handbook". Over 90 guests attended the presentation.

German Rector's Conference (HRK)
