Living in Vechta

The International Office offers a Room Database for international exchange students. In the Room Database you can find furnished rooms in dorms or from private providers. After the deadline for applications has run out, you will get access to the Room Database.

Please take the following into the consideration: the Room Database is a service by the International Office and does not guarantee a accommodation service!!  You are not assigned a room. You have to apply for your desired room and contact the landlord or landlady yourself. The tenancy agreement is signed between you and the landlord or landlady.

If you do not find a room in the Room Database you like, you are free to search for a room yourself.

You can find a private Accomodation Bureau in the Oldenburgische Volkszeitung (Information on Opens external link in new windowwww.ov-online.de ), at the Asta (Information on Opens external link in new windowwww.asta-uni-vechta.de ) or from a real estate agent. You can use the following websites for looking for a room: Opens external link in new windowhttps://www.wg-gesucht.de/, as well as the Facebook Groups "Wohnungen Kreis Vechta" and "Flohmarkt Vechta".

If you want to apply for a dorm room without using the Room Database you can apply directly at the dorm. Especially in the winter semester you should apply as early as possible because there might be a waiting period. For further information about the doorms please click Opens internal link in current windowhere.

Useful tips about living in a dorm can be found in this Initiates file downloadDorm Dictionary.
