Formalities upon arrival

Once you have arrived and found a suitable accommodation in Vechta, your next step should be to register your new address at the competent registration authorities. This step is obligatory if you plan to stay more than 3 months in Germany. In this case, if you are not a EU citizen, you should also apply for a resident permit. Other important first steps in Germany include finding an appropriate health insurance and opening a German bank account. Here we provide information on and assistance with all these important steps.
