Mentoring programme for international students
Mentors from the respective academic subjects can support international students in their first semester and students in the adaptation period as part of the mentoring programme. The programme is usually offered in the winter semester.
We are looking for mentors from the following subjects or degree programmes for the winter semester 2019/20: MA Social Services Management (MSD), BA Social Work and BA German Studies.
The mentoring programme runs for one semester (participation in the programme can be extended if both mentee and mentor are interested in doing so). If you register for the programme, you should be interested in and have time to meet regularly (about once a week) for one semester. Mentoring may include, for example:
- Support in the preparation and revision of courses
- Support with questions concerning everyday student life
- Support with questions regarding the organisation of studies, types of assessment, etc.
Mentors can of course always contact the International Office team (see contact). Previous knowledge is not required.
All participants are welcome to take part in the activities offered by the International Office.
Participation as a mentor in this programme is not remunerated. However, this commitment can be transferred as credit to the Certificate of International Competence. In addition, we can certify active participation in our mentoring programme as social/international commitment.
The application form for the mentoring programme (for mentees and mentors) can be found here.
