Language courses for teachers and prospective students (especially refugees)
The University of Vechta offers intensive language courses for international teachers and refugees who wish to study in Germany.
Depending on the course, prospective students without a refugee background (sometimes only with certain residence permits) can also take part in the courses, if places are available. Details can be found on the web pages of the individual courses (see below).
It is required to apply for the courses.
One focus of the offer is on courses with the target level C1 (including preparation for TestDaF/telc C1 Hochschule). TestDaF and telc C1 Hochschule are recognised language certificates for admission to German universities.
Costs for the German courses
The courses are free of charge. Currently, travel expenses cannot be covered, but a subsidy might be paid. Where required, only tickets for travelling with the VGV (Verkehrsgemeinschaft Landkreis Vechta), moobil+ and city buses might be provided.
Exception: Refugee teachers and, if applicable, teachers and prospective students from non-EU countries who are participating in a German course can, under certain conditions, have their travel expenses reimbursed. This depends on the German course (reimbursement in full or in part) and is not possible if the costs are born by another party. Teachers from the perimeter of Bremen, Oldenburg and Osnabrück are also welcome to apply, provided that they want to and are able to take part in daily lessons in Vechta.
In addition, the participants have to bear the costs for the TestDaF themselves. Scholarships are offered for particularly committed participants to cover the TestDaF fees (details will be given to the participants in the course).
