The language centre is a central academic facility of the University of Vechta. Our primary task is to offer a wide range of language courses. Our offers are open to all students as well as the employees of the University of Vechta.

Language Courses

The language courses are part of our programme of electives and are offered to students from every background and subject. All of the modules are aimed at the levels defined in the Common European Framework of References for Languages (CEFR). Our course offer is comprised of eleven languages: Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German as a foreign language, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Autonomous 
Learning

The Self Access Language Centre provides students and staff with programs for 14 languages. We are located in the R-Building (R006). We also offer tandem learning with our international students.

Language Certificates

The University of Vechta is a licensed examination centre for the TestDaF-Institute. It offers regular examination dates for TestDaF (language test for foreign learners of German) as well as online placement tests for English (onSET) and German (onDaF). Students of the University of Vechta can receive a DAAD language certificate for English.

Writing support

Writing academic texts is a central aspect in your studies. Our writing support will help you with all questions concerning the writing process from beginning to end. Consultations are offered to students and staff in English or German and for all subjects. Contact us via email or just visit us during our open office hours.
